#SunnySideUp January Recap

Wow, how quickly that month went by. February already!
A pretty good start to the project so far, thankfully no sleeps ins (or hangovers) yet so I've managed to capture an image everyday. Unfortunately the sun has stood me up on a few of occasions (Days 3, 10 & 22) but all in all I've been pretty happy with the results.

My balcony faces north east so every morning before I leave I take a quick look outside to see what the cloud conditions are like, and try to predict how its going to turn out, but one thing you learn pretty quickly is that you can never predict how its going to turn out, not even 20, 10 or even 5 mins before the sun comes up.
Take Day 7 for example, I was looking outside, there was a slight drizzle and its was a bit windy, I almost thought about just taking a pic of the dark clouds and putting up the 'rained out' sign on my website, but I eventually motivated myself enough to head down to Clovelly. As I was standing around in the drizzle, looking like a lost tourist, all of a sudden, about 2 mins before sunrise, an opening appeared in the clouds and BOOM, out came this mass array of orange light, so i quickly pulled my camera out from under my jumper and fired off a couple of rounds of brackets before my lens got too wet, then took off. A good reminder to never listen to what my sleepy head's telling me!

A few days into Fisheye February now which has made for a nice change, which definitely helps keep the interest levels and motivation up. Might have to think up a few more themes to mix it up, any suggestions please let me know. I recently purchased a glass ball, so was thinking about doing 'Orbtober'.

Thanks for reading and hopefully I might see you out there one morning, just look for the guy with the cheapest flimsiest tripod you've ever seen, and you've found me!

One last thing, here's a short video recap of the last month, all 31 sunrises in 2 mins! Enjoy.
